Folding Structures: A Creative Journey by Mujassam Watan Participants

As part of the knowledge program accompanying the seventh edition of the Mujassam Watan Competition, an innovative workshop titled “Folding Structures” was held in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra).

Spanning two days, the workshop brought together a select group of competition participants on a unique journey that blended art, engineering, and architectural experimentation. It offered a live model of creativity, where ideas were transformed into tangible prototypes within an environment that encouraged thinking beyond conventional boundaries.

This intellectual engagement reflects Mujassam Watan’s commitment to enriching the participants’ experience beyond the competition itself—through supportive programs that enhance design and conceptual awareness, and empower the new generation of creatives to craft a more conscious and innovative visual language.

Mujassam Watan has launched its 7th edition under the theme ‘The Inspiration is everywhere.’ Operations Manager Mohammed Al-Ghunaimi emphasized the initiative’s commitment to inspiring creatives, enriching cultural heritage, and encouraging unique designs.

This edition introduces major partnerships to expand its global reach, focusing on public roads and squares. Winners will be announced on Saudi Arabia’s 95th National Day, with a total prize pool of 50,000 euros.

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Eastern Province Development Authority, the authority signed a cooperation agreement with the Eastern Province Municipality and the Al-Fozan Foundation for Community Service, represented by the “Mujassam Watan” initiative, to develop the entrances to the Dammam metropolitan area.

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, received the chairman and board members of the “Mujassam Watan” competition and the winners of the sixth season today, Tuesday, at the governorate’s Diwan. The competition focuses on sculptures in various squares, including Al-Qallafah Square, Al-Maseera Square, and Katheeb Square.
